This is the one program for free file downloads that more people use than any other program.

You must give it a try.

Limewire is the one source of free things that is completely legal and you can find almost anything that you want. If you are looking for anything from the Blues Brothers to Superbad, you can find it on LimeWire. I am sure that most of you have already heard of this program and are worried that it is not legal or that you will get viruses on your computer. I will guarantee you that LimeWire is completely legal and that you will not get viruses on your computer if you just download files like movies, music, and pictures (mp3, mp4, wmv, mpg4 (mpeg4), jpg, png). The reason that LimeWire is legal is that you can share music with your “friends”, as long as you are not selling it to them. LimeWire is a torrent, and for those of you who do not know what that is, it means that multiple people host each file (you automatically do once you download any file) and when one person wants a specific file, they get pieces of it from different people. This process is called file sharing.

LimeWire offers a pro version that offers fast downloads, but I would definitely recommend checking out the free version first.

Tips for using LimeWire

- As I said before, only download files in movie, picture, or song formats to avoid getting viruses on your computer.

- There is a very much smaller chance that you will get viruses on your computer if you get LimeWire for mac because most of the viruses are only programmed to work on Windows-based operating systems.

- There will be a number right next to the name of the file that you are downloading that will tell you the amount of people that are hosting a file. You should give the program some time to acquire at least three different hosts before you start downloading a file larger than about 100mb. The more hosts that you have, the faster the download will go.

For everyone who wants to try out photo editing and modifying for the first time, but doesn’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on photoshop, this is what you should check out. GIMP is a program that is scripted off the basis of photoshop and it has almost all of the features that photoshop has. GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program; of course that sounds pretty nerdy, but it is just a simple photo editing software. I have been using GIMP for a while and I have found that it really gets the job done and because it is so similar to photoshop, it is a great way to decide if you really want to spend a very large amount of money. Another purpose that it can be used for is to put a professional-looking copyright signature on photos that you may have taken and wish to sell. It is available for Linux, Macintosh, and Windows so why not go and check it out!
